patterns calling for less than 5 balls/skeins/hanks of wool. These may be downloaded as
pdf-Files. Some are free, others, more complicated or extensive patterns are for
sale using PayPal.
Silke Hupka, the Designer:
I'm hooked. To wool. Since my early childhood, when both my two grandmothers
taught me to knit. Meanwhile I'm also spinning, dyeing
and felting.
I can't imagine life without wool, but I don't keep sheep. But a
good friend does. Lucky me.
I love the challenge of making something special - not just plain
scarves - out of odd balls or of two completely different
varieties of yarn.
My background is IT-Management, Business & Trade
and I also hold a Master in psychology and educational science.
I'm German and I'm splitting my live between Spain (near Barcelona) and Germany
(near Frankfurt/Main) with my husband and our
dog. My husband is a "nearly native" Speaker - as a child he spent a lot of time
in England - , so I'm used to speak, listen, read, knit, think in English.
Honestly - knitting patterns I tend to think about in English. All my private recordings
on ongoing or planned projects are in English. Personally I'm
neither a native
speaker nor writer - as you'll find out quickly. Nevertheless I'm locking forward
to share
my patterns and ideas with people all over the world - in English.
