Spring definitely is my favorite season. Here
comes an end to heavy coats, muddy boots, sodden hats, clumsy
mittens and all that bulky stuff.
It’s the time to spend time outside again, sit in the yard, share
the dogs joy in greeting all the little flowers and fresh leaves
on the walks he allows me to share with him.
Isn’t it romantic? Maybe the name is not…

great. Even if you have grown up meanwhile.

| Edgar |
published in Knitty's fall 2005 issue - FREE |
 |
In
Germany, fall is grey, wet and cold. Nothing else. Just the right
time for some extra color and coziness from a scarf.
I love self striping yarns. I really do. Many colors in just one
ball mean endless possibilities for adventurous knitters. Edgar
the edgy scarf is my latest approach to the possibilities of one
or two balls of self striping yarns, showing off all their beauty
and brightness.
One ball of Noro Silk Garden or Noro Kureyon knits up to a cravat,
43 inches long. If you’d like an extra long Edgar, 2 balls will
end him at 85 inches. If you want him medium (43 inches), one and
a half ball will do.
Finished Size(s):
one fits most adults
Skill Level: intermediate
Yarn Used:
either1
(2)
balls of Noro Silk Garden or Noro Kureyon. |

| Sheela Scarves |
FREE |
 |
In the last couple of weeks I
had quite a few people asking or searching for scarves made from
Gedifra Sheela.
Sheela is a great yarn, soft,
quick to knit and - best of all - it knits into a fabric coming close
to a sheepskin. A knitters dream.
A scarf can be finished in one
evening which makes it a nice gift.
If you like Sheela scarves,
please also look at my “One Ball Scarves”, there is a pattern for a
cravat knitted from just one ball of Sheela included.
You will get patterns for 2 Sheela scarves
- one calling for 3 skeins of Gedifra Sheela, one calling for one ball
of Gedifra Sheela and two balls of Gedifra Tagliato.
You should know how to cast
on, bind off, knit and purl.
Finished Size(s):
One fits most adults
Skill Level: beginner
Yarn Used:
Gedifra Sheela
and Gedifra Tagliato.

For a while now I have been in love with mosaic
patterns.
If you combine a solid colour yarn with a self striping yarn the
effect is tremendous. My intention was to create a mosaic or slip
stitch pattern that is suitable for a scarf – giving you a scarf
which looks alike on both sides, using only one colour per row and
displaying the brightness of the yarns.
The mosaic pattern this scarf uses is easy to knit
– just give it a try.
Finished Size(s):

Skill Level: beginner
Yarn Used:
One ball Noro
Kureyon and one ball Alafoss Lettlopi OR one ball Noro SilkGarden
and one ball Gedifra Cashmerino. |
