Spring definitely is my favorite season. Here
comes an end to heavy coats, muddy boots, sodden hats, clumsy
mittens and all that bulky stuff.
It’s the time to spend time outside again, sit in the yard, share
the dogs joy in greeting all the little flowers and fresh leaves
on the walks he allows me to share with him.
Isn’t it romantic? Maybe the name is not…

| One ball scarves |
Price: 5 $ |

A
normal size scarf from just one ball of yarn? A scarf made of 25
grams of wool?
I’ve
worked on that issue.
Here
are 4 scarves, made from either 1 ball of Rowans KidSilk Haze or
Adriafil Touch, 1 ball of recycled Sari Silk yarn, 1 ball of
Gedifra Sheela or 1 ball of Lana Grossa Pep.
All
make great commuter or “on the go” projects – light weight, easy
to store, comfortable to knit everywhere.
Finished Size(s):
one fits most adults
Skill Level: Beginner/easy
Yarn Used:
either 1
ball of Rowans KidSilk Haze or Adriafil Touch, 1 ball of recycled
Sari Silk yarn,
1 ball
of Gedifra Sheela
or 1 ball
of Lana Grossa Pep.

| Karlchen |
FREE |

Do you know the feeling of
starting a cap from a ball of leftovers and running out of yarn
before the crown is finished? I do. As a result I designed
“Karlchen” (German for “Charly”), a one ball cap knitted from the
top downwards.
If you are running out of
yarn – just come to an end. Knit the ribbing and bind off. It
doesn’t really matter if the cap is an inch shorter – as long as
you start at the crown!
The pattern is suitable
for many different yarns; it explains the basic formula for a top
- down cap.
I published this pattern
last year in my German blog for free. Here is the translation.
Finished Size(s):
from baby to adult XL
Skill Level: Intermediate
Yarn Used: most yarns, examples knitted in Noro Kureyon
(1 ball) and Lang Tosca (1 ball) |

| Merry Needles |
Price: 5 $ |
 |
Spending a couple of weeks in
the UK this summer I wanted some travel gear for a selection of
knitting needles. As Germany isn’t the place to buy good knitting
equipment, I decided to knit and felt my own needle quiver.
So the first Little John came
to life. He did an excellent job during my stay in the UK and now has
gathered several mates.
The quivers are nice give-aways
– not only for the poor.
You will get patterns for
-
2 Robins - quivers for double point needles
-
2 Little Johns - quivers for straight needles
-
2 Tucks - quivers for circular needles
-
1 Much (the millers son) - quiver for crochet
hooks, lucet or short double point needles
All are felted knits.
Finished Size(s):
see above
Skill Level: intermediate
Yarn Used: Alafoss Lopi, Gedifra
Gigante, Noro Kureyon

| Sheela Scarves |
FREE |
 |
In the last couple of weeks I
had quite a few people asking or searching for scarves made from
Gedifra Sheela.
Sheela is a great yarn, soft,
quick to knit and - best of all - it knits into a fabric coming close
to a sheepskin. A knitters dream.
A scarf can be finished in one
evening which makes it a nice gift.
If you like Sheela scarves,
please also look at my “One Ball Scarves”, there is a pattern for a
cravat knitted from just one ball of Sheela included.
You will get patterns for 2 Sheela scarves
- one calling for 3 skeins of Gedifra Sheela, one calling for one ball
of Gedifra Sheela and two balls of Gedifra Tagliato.
You should know how to cast
on, bind off, knit and purl.
Finished Size(s):
One fits most adults
Skill Level: beginner
Yarn Used:
Gedifra Sheela
and Gedifra Tagliato.
